Bai Tu Long Heritage Cruise
Bai Tu Long is the same drowned limestone as Halong, with a fraction of the traffic. Licences to sail here are capped, so on most nights you anchor within sight of one or two other ships rather than forty. Three days is what the route needs: Vung Vieng, where a hundred or so people still live and work on the water, Thien Canh Son cave, and a full morning at Cong Dam where the islets sit close enough together to paddle between them.
